  • Stay in School Concert 2007 NYC

Hot 97 and E.A.R.S, Entertainers 4 Education Alliance teamed up to bring New York City kids the concert of a lifetime. The Stay in School concert featured some of today’s hottest artists and entertainers. Celebrities like Reverend Run, and John Starks from the New York Knicks provided positive messages for the students in attendance. Rev Run was presented with an award for using his celebrity to help the community. America’s Next Top Model Winner, Jaslene starred in the LOT 29 fashion show featuring the hottest styles for winter. Rapper Papoose preformed his version of the Alphabet song, rap style which the kids enjoyed. However, the students weren’t the only ones having fun- the teachers couldn’t help but dance either. Other performers included Lil’ Mama, Young B, DJ Webstar and the “5000 Kids”. Surprise guest Lil Mo and Darnell from MTV’s Sweet Sixteen hit the stage, together performing some of Mo’s classics. Remy Ma, who the crowd went crazy for, discussed the recent problems she’s been facing. “When you get your report card back with all A’s, doesn’t it…feel so good?” Remy asked the crowd before performing her hit song. The show ended with Juelz Santana who was presented with an award for his active participation in many Entertainers 4 Education events. He closed the show with fellow Dipset members Jim Jones and Freaky Zeaky. Several children from the audience were rewarded with MP3 players and the grand prize winner was presented with free tutoring from progressive tutoring program Catapult Online. HOT 97 was also recognized for its commitment to the community. Donyshia Benjamin, the Senior Promotions Director and Ebro Darden, the programming director were both recognized for their efforts.
