Jay-Z and the Roc Boys were in the building Sunday night, part of the American Gangster Live tour. Jay-Z who released his 2nd post retirement album, American Gangster last Tuesday, celebrated his success with all of New York. It was obvious that die-hard Jay-Z fans had been camped out in front of Manhattan center/Hammerstein ballroom; some, since three in the afternoon. Inside, the venue was jam-packed, not only with excited fans, but with celebrities like Talib Kweli, Michael Bivins, and HOT 97 DJs lDJ Envy and Angie Martinez. DJ Funkmaster Flex was on the ones and twos spinning the hottest 90s tracks as the crowd anxiously awaited Hov. Finally without warning Jigga graced the stage accompanied by a live band and backup singers. Jay performed hits off his new album as well as dropping some of his classics like Ain’t No Love, Where I’m From, P.S.A, Show Me What You Got and more. The night wouldn’t have been complete without bringing out his Rocafella family, Memphis Bleek, Beanie Sigel, Freeway and the Young Gunz to the stage. Beanie and Jay and even performed hot street banger “Ignorant Sh*t” before Beanie left the stage. Jay also brought Lil’ Wayne to perform Hello Brooklyn off the new album and Diddy to perform the I Get Money Remix. Before closing the show, Jay asked for a moment of silence from the crowd, in remembrance of Kanye West’s mother who passed away the day before. For the finale, Jay brought the Roc boys including newest member, Jadakiss back to the stage to perform hot new single, Roc Boys.

And the winner is definitely Jay-Z.
