A congratulations is in order for the New Orleans Saints, the winners of the 2009 Super Bowl. Of course Kim Kardashian was on deck proudly rooting for her man, Reggie Bush. To celebrate the win, Kim sported black and gold Minx nails, with the letters BUSH and #25! Uber cute! This is the New Orleans Saints first Super Bowl win and first time ever in the Super Bowl period.

I was pleasantly surprised when co-worker and friend Nema, randomly dropped off Chocolate Kiss by Essie on my desk! It’s a perfect shade for Valentine’s day, I think Essie has packaged it along with several other Valentine’s day worthy shades.
What do you think of Chocolate Kiss!
Please bare with my pictures, I’m still getting the hang of this!

I’ve been waiting for a while now for the newest OPI collection to release. OPI has been to France and Spain and now their taking us to Hong Kong with the all new Spring/Summer 2010 collection. The collection boasts of bright colors like. Jade is the New Black (green), Suzi Says Feng Shui (blue), A Good Man-darin is Hard to Find (Orange). I’m happy to see these colors for the spring instead of the usual pastels or the trendy neon nails from years past. I’ve already ordered I’m Chopsticking to My Story which is a caramel color. Stay tuned for the swatches!
*Sidebar* OPI has always been known for their tongue and cheek nail polish names, but a friend of mine suggested that these names were a little suspect, (A Good Man-darin is Hard to Find, I’m Chopsticking To My Story, Panda-monium) Is she on to something, or no?
What are your favorite colors from OPI’s Hong Kong Collection?

Solange can now add “DJ” to her resume, as she’s been spotted on more than one occasion behind the booth. Solange sports a pink and yellow moon manicure with pointy tips. A bold combo, which suits her style.

A congrats is in order to Ms. Monique who’s was awarded a Golden Globe for her poignant role in Precious. While everyone else was focused on her hairy legs, my eyes were directed at her white (acrylic?) nails. I’m not a fan of the acrylic, but I do like the white in contrast to the champagne dress.
Who’s nails do you prefer?

The new NARS Spring 2010 collection is now available online and in stores! This collection seems to be a little bolder than other collections I’ve seen for Spring so far. The featured nail color is called Purple Rain (love it!) and is described at as a “gothic purple…that vacilitates between opposites: rocker or royalty, rebellious or refined.” The collection is inspired by actress Catherine Deneuve as Lucile in La Chamade (1968).
What do you think about the new NARS Spring 2010 collection?

The new Art of Spring 2010 collection from salon favorite Essie is to release next month. It seems that Essie is on a creme kick, the last couple of collections have all featured creme based polishes, no sparkles or frost. I’m not complaining, I’m a creme fanatic, but I’m not that excited about these colors, what do you think?
Colors from left to right: Pop Art Pink, Lilacism, Neo Whimisical, Van D’Go, Tart Deco, Red Nouveau

Sorry for the lack of posts it’s been a rough week. Here’s a couple of new juicy tidbits to keep your eye on:
MAC in Lillyland:

The best part of Winter is Spring! It’s around this time that fashion and beauty houses reveal their spring lines. MAC has recently introduced MAC in Lillyland, a collab with esteemed resort designer Lilly Pulitzer.
A collaboration that feels like the best tongue-in-chic resort retort delivers that joyously bright and refined Key West bloom: new floral patterned Pearlmatte Eye Shadow and Face Powder, plus all the retro-modern colour combinations that Lilly is famous for.

Coconut Ice (Light yellow peach pink, Cream) and Steamy (Hot ‘n’ steamy pink, Cream)
OPI x Disney’s Alice in Wonderland:

Tim Burton and Johnny Burton are teaming up again for the film version of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. Alice in Wonderland has always been one of my favorite Disney movies, so I’m excited to see this one. So I’m loving the idea of this collabo with OPI and Disney on an all new collection. The collection is sparkly, featuring blue, purple hues: Thanks So Muchness, Absolutely Alice, Mad as a Hatter, and Off With Her Red.
New Spring Chanel, Le Impressions:

Last Fall, I posted a couple of entries about Chanel’s Spring Runway (Deciphering Le Vernis). The models wore a mauve/beige nailpolish and I think it may have finally been released! It’s called Trapeze and it’s available now on Chanel.com! There are also several new colors such as Inattendu and Tendresse. Haute!

In honor of the first snow of 2009 here in NYC, I’ve come up with the newest Varnished Nail Collection, Empire City Snow Day!
Salt & Shovels- Inspired by NYC’s obsession with salt trucks. CND Sugar Sparkle has chunky sparkle flakes that resemble rock salt.

OPI Alpine Snow x CND Sugar Sparkle Effect (Not depicted. Available 2010)
Snow Covered Concrete- Inspired by shoveled sidewalks

Ginger + Liz Gray Area x Orly Shine On Crazy Diamond
Blacktop Snowfight- Kids on the playground having the snow fight of their lives! Even better when school’s out!

China Glaze Liquid Leather x Diamond Cosmetics Glitter Silver x Essie Matte About You (Optional- since Liquid Leather is the shiniest Black around!)
I was thinking of adding one last color, Empire City Snow Day but I think I’m going to let the readers decide.
What colors would you combine to make Empire City Snow Day by VNC?
